How can I get to the Maldives?
Nearly all visitors travel to the Maldives by air and arrive at Malé International Airport. Several scheduled and charter flights operate direct to the Maldives on a regular basis. Flights originate from Austria, France, Germany, Holland, India, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, U.A.E. and the UK.
How do I get to Huvafen Fushi from the airport? How far is it?
On your arrival at Malé International Airport you will be met by Huvafen Fushi’s Airport Host who will guide you to your transfer.
Huvafen Fushi is in North Malé Atoll of the Maldives. Your Maldives experience begins with a breathtaking 30-minute speed boat ride from the airport. For those who prefer to fly you can take a 15 minute charter sea plane transfer across the atoll.
What types of accommodation are available in your resort?
8 Beach Bungalows with Plunge Pool, 8 Deluxe Beach Bungalows with Plunge Pool, 12 Lagoon Bungalows with Plunge Pool, 12 Ocean Bungalows with Plunge Pool. Huvafen Fushi also offers 2-Bedroom Suites: 1 Beach Pavilion with Private Pool and 2 Ocean Pavilions with Private Pool. THen there's Cube - a double storey dream home (away from home) with 3-bedrooms and ultra-luxe amenities.
Or choose to indulge in another Huvafen Fushi signature - offshore accommodation in the way of the Sensuelle and Dhonis.
How many people can be accommodated in one room?
Beach, Deluxe Beach, Lagoon and Ocean Bungalows can each accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years of age (1 extra bed and 1 baby cot). Beach and Ocean Pavilions are 2 bedroom suites and can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children less than 12 years of age.
What are the facilities available in the room?
All the rooms are air-conditioned and have Overhead Fan, Espresso Machine, Private Bar, Beach Towels, Bathrobe & Slippers, Sala and Day Beds, Hidden Safe, IDD Telephone, Oversized King Bed, Frette 300 Thread Count Linen, Plasma Screen and Bose Surround Sound System with DVD Player and Tic Tac Toe Game.
Is there a safe in the room at Huvafen Fushi?
We have a safe in your bungalow or pavilion.
Do you have email and internet facilities available to the guests?
Yes, we have complimentary wi-fi available throughout the island and two Apple computers in The Lair assessable 24 hours a day.
Does the island offer babysitting facilities?
Yes.
Will I be able to see manta rays, dolphins and whale sharks during my stay?
The best time to see manta rays in the North Malé Atoll is from January to April.
There are many opportunities to go on a variety of different and wonderful dives during your stay with us, from seeing mantas and whale sharks (during season), eagle rays, grey reef sharks and, of course, lots and lots of schooling fish.
The best dive sites of the North Malé Atoll are in Rasfari which has a large sloping wall that falls from ten metres below the sea to 25, levels out and then ledges off again dropping down to 90 metres. You follow the sloping wall some 30 metres down to the reef and marvel at gray reef sharks, silver tip and white tip reef sharks circling right in front of you, while a large family of eagle rays dances in the current. Completing this magnificent show of underwater magic are some giant barracudas, tunas and napoleon wrasses, as well as schools of fusiliers, blue-striped snappers and surgeonfish.
What recreational activities are there on the island?

What dining facilities are available at the resort?
At Huvafen Fushi, the food and wine experience is focused on being the best in the region, with our 3 restaurants, bar and underground wine cellar.
We create healthy, light and flavoursome food with various ethnic cuisines featured on each menu. The menus are heavily influenced by Vietnamese, Italian, Japanese and modern Asian cuisine, as well as local Maldivian culinary style.
The following facilities are available:
Celsius – Serving the finest international taste sensations daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an additional lunch menu available.
Raw – A combination of ‘spa cuisine’ and ‘raw-cuisine’.
Salt – Heavily influenced by the seafood that swims beneath you, fusing lush Mediterranean with vibrant influences from South East Asia. Savour the finest catch of the day under star-filled skies.
UMbar – Main Bar serving designer cocktails.
Vinum – Our underground wine cellar. Selection of wines from the Old and New Worlds meticulously sourced by our Master of Wine. Our Sommelier is also available to help you select wines to be savoured on their own, as well as to match wines to your selection of dishes from one of our dining menus.
Do you cater for vegetarians and people with special dietary requirements?
Of course! Please let us know when you make your reservation and we will cater to your dietary requirements throughout your stay.
Do you have an island shop, and what does it sell?
There is a boutique ‘Island Home’ on Huvafen Fushi which sells an array of traditional arts and crafts, colourful silk sarongs, designer accessories, swimwear and general toiletries.
Is it possible to get married at Huvafen Fushi?
As yet, it is not possible for foreigners to get married in a legally binding ceremony in the Maldives.
However, we do offer “renewal of love” wedding packages: the Underwater Amore Per AQUUM, Beach Wedding and Pure White Sand Islet Packages.
Is there a minimum night stay policy at Huvafen Fushi?
During the festive period (20th December – 10th January) a minimum 14 nights stay is required.
How do I pay the hotel reservation?
Upon receiving our confirmation, your credit card details are required. It will be used as a guarantee and will be charged if there is any cancellation within the period specified in the cancellation policy.
We do accept cash / Amex / Visa / Master Card/ Diners Card.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation within 30 days prior to arrival will be charged a 50% cancellation fee, except over the Festive Season (20th December to 10th January) where a 100% cancellation fee will apply. Cancellation within 21 days prior to arrival will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. No shows and under stays are also subject to a 100% cancellation fee.
Reservations over the Festive Season would require pre-payment 90 days prior to arrival.
What is the method of payment?
You do not need to worry about payment until departure for all items. All additional spending can be charged to your room, to be settled upon your departure.

Do you accept travellers cheques as a payment method?
Yes, we do accept travellers cheques.
Can travellers cheques be cashed on the island and are there any charges?
When changing travellers cheques there will be a bank charge of 3%.
What is the best currency to bring?
US Dollars are preferred all over the Maldives but we do accept all ‘hard currencies’ such as the EUR, GBP and CHF.
Will I need much cash?
It is always advisable to have some cash on hand while travelling.
What is the weather like in the Maldives?

What should I bring to wear?
Maldives has a tropical climate and is warm throughout the year. Light cottons and linens are ideal. You’ll need your swimwear and resort wear which can also be purchased in the island boutique.
Do I need to bring towels and beach towels?
No, we will provide you with all the towels you will need.
What language is spoken in the Maldives?
The official language of the Maldives is Dhivehi, however English is widely spoken on the resorts and Malé.
Do you have staff on site that speak other languages apart from English?
There are staff on hand who speak Russian, French, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Hindi.
Is it possible to plug the laptop into the phone line in the bungalows and pavilions?
Yes, however telephone charges will apply.
Do you have a dive school on the island? And how is the diving at Huvafen Fushi?
We offer a large array of diving opportunities for both beginners and qualified divers.
Situated in a secluded corner of the Atoll, we are fortunate enough to have minimal boat traffic and therefore have some truly amazing dive sites all to ourselves.
What are the spa facilities available in your resort?
LIME Spa, the operating spa company at Huvafen Fushi, emphasizes simplicity and quality. Understanding that each of us is unique, we offer each guest a personal lifestyle consultation. While you can book into our day or week long pre-packaged programs, we also custom-design retreats to suit the individual’s lifestyle and requirements.
The spa menus are created with natural tonics and elixirs made from fresh sea water, nutritious sea plants and minerals. Packages include mind-soothing aromatherapy, body nourishing scrubs, Eastern and Western massage styles, sophisticated face and eye renewal, along with Eastern rejuvenation rituals.
The many facilities provided by the spa include Underwater Treatment Rooms, Private Therapy Rooms, Couples’ Therapy Rooms, Relaxation Lounge, Separate Male and Female Changing Rooms, Designated Manicure and Pedicure Treatment Rooms, Degrees’ – Sauna, Steam, Onsen Shower, Ice Room, Gymnasium, Boutique, Yoga Pavilion, Open Air Floatation Pool and Spa Cuisine at Raw.
Is it possible to get married at Huvafen Fushi?
As yet, it is not possible for foreigners to get married in a legally binding ceremony in the Maldives.
